Staff Accountant
Lombard, ILThe Staff Accountant with Treasury Experience will support the accounting department by performing a range of accounting, financial, and treasury-related duties. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can handle daily accounting tasks while assisting with treasury functions such as cash management and forecasting. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and a basic understanding of treasury operations.
Accounting Responsibilities
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
Prepare and process journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including financial reporting.
Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections.
Support external audit processes by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis.
Treasury Responsibilities
Monitor daily cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts to ensure adequate liquidity.
Perform bank reconciliations and manage banking relationships.
Process wire transfers, ACH payments, and intercompany transactions as needed.
Support the preparation of treasury reports for management review.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial regulations in all treasury activities.
Requirements
Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Secret Clearance (pass a criminal background and credit check)
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3–8 years of experience in accounting or a similar role.
Exposure to or hands-on experience with treasury operations is preferred
Excellent organizational abilities
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks timely and with a high degree of accuracy
Knowledge of Microsoft products, advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
Customer service oriented
Prior construction experience preferred but not mandatory
Vista by Viewpoint experience preferred but not mandatory
Good understanding of importance of time management and completing tasks
