Project Manager

Pernix is looking to hire a Project Manager (PM) who will be responsible for the overall success of a project. This position will be for an international project. The right candidate will be eligible for an expat salary and benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance; basic life and AD&D insurance; short and long term disability insurance; global evac; matching 401k (ROTH available); employee assistance program; as well as optional term life, critical illness, accident, legal, and pet insurance. The PM will responsible for ensuring all work remains on schedule, cost targets are achieved, and work is performed safely and to the highest level of quality. This person must be able to build strong communication links with the project team, subcontractors, and the client.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Primary point of contact between Client, PMO, and field personnel
  • Ensure the overall project schedule is achieved by:
    • Participating in the preparation of the overall project schedule, ensuring subcontractors are in agreement and in compliance with the approved schedule
    • Directing the preparation of the weekly short-term schedule prepared by the scheduler and ensure subcontractor schedules align as needed
    • Ensuring that unit and exterior turnover deadlines are achieved and monitor turnover manager’s work to ensure compliance
    • Coordinating with other team members and the PMO to ensure optimum coordination of schedules
  • Monitor and forecast costs for the assigned site and participate in the preparation of monthly cost forecast report in conjunction with PX, PCE, and Accounting
  • Conduct weekly coordination meeting attended by subcontractors, project superintendents and field managers; ensure accurate minutes are kept and issued in a timely manner
  • Attend monthly project progress meetings
  • Attend weekly CQC meetings held by the QC Manager attended by key contractor staff
  • Coordinate and direct, as needed, efforts of project support team – scheduling, design, safety
  • Review and approve subcontractors monthly pay applications and obtain approval from client’s representative
  • Review and negotiate change proposals from subcontractors and overviews in the preparation of the change proposals
  • Monitor progress of design to ensure construction documents are complete to allow timely start of the construction
  • Keep the PX current on progress and key project issues
  • Ensure all field operations are carried out per the project and company policies and procedures
  • Ensure all operations and work meet the contract requirements
  • Participate in interviewing staff for support positions and making recommendations to senior management.
  • Participate with the PX, SHPM, and QCM in the training and mentoring of the project staff
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
 
Requirements:
  • Must be able to relocate internationally;
  • Experience in all aspects of design/build contract execution
  • Professional Engineer preferred
  • Have a security clearance or the ability to obtain a clearance (must be a U.S. citizen)
  • Minimum 10 years of professional employment managing comparable design/build work (projects valued at $100mil+) and a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited program in Architecture, Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Science/Technology, or Construction Management
